Minti podcast

28

April

The 2webcrew from The Podcast Network took me through a Q&A session on Minti, fundraising and other related issues on their podcast yesterday.

If you want to know a bit more about Minti then take a listen here.

Your advice Visits are rising!

26

April

I am not sure if you are aware that we display the number of visits your advice receives at the bottom of each article page. (Note: we may move this to the top of the page in the near future).

Our most visited article to date is close to breaking the 3000 visits mark (due largely to techcrunch’s post).

A lot are already over 500 visits and it is quite typical for a new article to receive around 20 - 30 visits in the first 24 hrs ! :)

Here is one article that is about 2.5 days old and is already at 83 visits!

Upload an image for your Minti avatar

22

April

Minti members are now able to upload an image for their avatar, or they can still select an avatar from our cool list of avatars :)

Here is an example of some member’s avatars appearing near their comments…

If you prefer not to upload an image, then just select from our list of cool avatars…

Minti discussion on requested advice

22

April

Minti now has discussion around “requested advice“. If you have something to say which you think may help, but do not have enough information for a full article… just add a comment to the requested advice.

Here is an example.

Minti has a new homepage

22

April

We have updated the Minti homepage. It’s now even fresher and has a lot more activity you can get involved in :)

Here are some screen shots…

Minti members now have friends ;)

22

April

As a Minti member you now get to link to your friends and have a chat with them in your friends forum. Similar functionality to MySpace if you are familiar with that :)
Here is a screen shot as an example…

Minti now gives you a blog

22

April

Every Minti member now gets their own blog! The address will be http://membername.minti.com/blog

It is the easiest blog I have ever used, as it has an entry already open for you to post a new blog entry. Also it is bare bones at the moment… all you have to do is type and click “save”

Here is mine as an example.

Member page URL

22

April

You now get a unique URL for your member page on Minti.

For example, if your member name was “KingKong” your member page would be at http://kingkong.minti.com

Why? Its certainly nice and easy to remember, neat and easy to communicate to your friends :)

Here is mine if you are interested in seeing an example.

New features for Minti

22

April

Yesterday we rolled a lot of new features on Minti.

Here is a quick list… I will start posting some screen shots in a dedicated post for each new feature.

  1. personal member homepage. Every member gets a personalized URL “username.minti.com” ( example mine is http://claycook.minti.com)
  2. personal blog with its own rss feed
  3. friends list - similar to myspace
  4. friends forum - similar to myspace
  5. more interactive Minti homepage
  6. discussion around requested advice
  7. member personalised image - upload your own image of yourself if you want or use an avatar
  8. input your children’s name and ages - this will help with future features
